Official Sources and Policy Update Log

Our source list points readers to the company or agency that owns each policy.

Before you act

Check the exact carrier, service, role, and date in the official order or tracking page. A support inquiry, carrier claim, and seller refund are separate paths.

How this applies

Research records were reviewed on November 2, 2026. An access date does not freeze a carrier rule. Recheck the live policy and your shipping contract before filing.

We distinguish a calendar-day window from business days, postal business days, and calendar months. Conflicting or incomplete terms are not calculated automatically.

USPS Missing Mail, UPS claims, FedEx claims, Amazon Shipping, and government consumer guidance are examples of primary sources used in this library. A guide cites the source relevant to its stated rule rather than relying on a generic site-wide bibliography.

A checked date means the research was reviewed then. It does not mean the rule stays current after that date. If the carrier changes its portal, if a retailer changes its US policy, or if an account contract differs, the current official terms control the reader's next action.

We keep calculation disabled for Amazon Shipping's conflicting lost-claim start date, business-day rules without a validated holiday calendar, and month-based rules that should not be converted to a fixed number of days. Readers can still use the official link to verify their actual service.
