Tracking Number Invalid? Check Carrier and Label

An invalid tracking result can mean a typo, the wrong carrier, a new label without acceptance, or an order ID used as a tracking number.

Before you act

Check the exact carrier, service, role, and date in the official order or tracking page. A support inquiry, carrier claim, and seller refund are separate paths.

Start here

  1. Copy the code from the official shipping confirmation and remove extra spaces.
  2. Confirm the carrier named on the same notice; check for a last-mile partner.
  3. Look for an acceptance event or ask the seller when the parcel was physically handed over.
  4. If the code remains invalid after the expected handoff, request a corrected tracking link from the seller.

Evidence to keep

  • Order confirmation email
  • Tracking number in confirmation

Keep address, order ID, and tracking number private. Share them only in the merchant or carrier's official support flow.

Do not infer the carrier from a prefix alone

Several services share formats or hand parcels to another company. A number pattern cannot reliably prove who has the item; the official order record and scan history are stronger evidence.

Carrier, seller, or payment provider?

A carrier inquiry seeks the parcel or records a delivery problem. A carrier claim concerns loss or damage under a shipping agreement. A merchant refund or replacement concerns your order. Those paths may run in parallel, but one request does not automatically open another.

If the first response does not resolve it

Ask for the case number and the reason for the decision in writing. Recheck the exact service, shipment date, and any seller or payment protection window before escalating. Do not assume a delivered scan settles a possible misdelivery or theft dispute.

Use the company website directly. Do not use a link from an unexpected delivery text or email.

Policies and contact routes can change. Verify the current US terms and the actual service before filing.
